The Columbia Valley of Washington State received (AVA) appellation status in 1984. The area predominantly produces Concord and other Vitis labrusca grapes that are fruit-forward, like California wines, but also balanced and structured, like European wines.
From this region comes Diversion Cabernet, which exhibits aromas of dark cherry and black currant with notes of black tea in the background. This Cab is extremely approachable, with a spine of grainy tannins and a long finish that highlights flavors of raspberry and fresh-picked black cherry.
We recommend enjoying with prime rib or pot roast. This Cabernet is truly a meat lovers delight!
